Patients in Kingston, PA are loving the affordable cost of front teeth veneer procedure
Many Americans are not happy with the state of their smile. It could be that some teeth have become discolored, chipped, or misshapen. A dental veneer procedure is a great solution to all of these problems and more. Dr. Stephen Lawrence at Lawrence Dental Group has been performing this procedure with great results for those in the Kingston, PA area.
What Is A Veneer?

A dental veneer is a thin shell made of porcelain and customized specifically for your smile which fits over a tooth to improve the aesthetics of your smile. Veneers do a particularly great job at concealing issues such as chipped, stained, or misshapen teeth. Veneers are usually considered a purely cosmetic procedure but, in some instances, they can be part of a comprehensive dental plan to makeover your smile. Porcelain veneers are stain-resistant (but not stain-proof) and will be adhered to the front of your tooth to create an improvement in the cosmetic appearance of your smile by concealing teeth which have become misshapen, discolored, or chipped.
Cost of Veneers
The cost of veneers varies by type and also by insurance coverage. Porcelain veneers are custom made for individual teeth and will require two separate visits to your dentist. The first visit is to fit your teeth for the veneers and the follow-up visit is for applying the newly created veneers. Porcelain veneers cost more than composite veneers but they also last longer, normally 10 to 15 years or longer.
Process of Receiving Your Veneers
While composite veneers are typically placed in a single appointment, porcelain veneers will require a set of appointments. Your preliminary visit will consist of x-rays being taken by your dentist. A very thin layer, about half a millimeter, of enamel will be removed from any tooth receiving a veneer. Impressions are then taken of your teeth which are sent off to a lab where the veneers will be manufactured. Temporary veneers will then be placed.
When you return for your follow up visit, your veneers will be ready for placement. You’ll be able to confirm that the color and shape looks good. The surface of any tooth receiving a veneer is slightly roughened so that the veneer can be placed with a special cement and then hardened using a UV light. Your dentist may want you to come for a follow-up visit a few weeks after to make sure the veneers are working out for you, but typically just the two appointments will be necessary.
