The Clear Aligners Treatment Process
You’ll set up an initial consultation with the Lawrence Dental Group team to start the treatment process. We’ll perform a thorough oral exam during this visit to determine if you are a good candidate for aligner treatment.
The next step is to take scans of your mouth which are then used to create your treatment plan. It typically only takes a few weeks for your first set of aligners to arrive at our office.
Once you receive your aligners, you will wear the set for around 20-22 hours per day. While the aligners can be removed to eat, drink, and brush your teeth, they need to be worn most of the day to reposition your teeth effectively. Each set of aligners is worn for about two weeks before swapping out for the next set.
Throughout the treatment process, you will need to come into the office periodically for a quick oral exam to monitor your progress. Once you complete your clear aligners treatment, you will be given a set of retainers that can be worn overnight to keep your teeth positioned properly.
